The graduate studies program in geography of Universidade do Estado do Pará – PPGG/UEPA began its activities in 2019 as a result of the approval of the academic master's course in geography by the coordination for the improvement of higher education personnel – Capes, in December 2018.
The master's degree in geography of UEPA results from institutional effort carried out under the Directorate of the Center for Social Sciences and education – CCSE and UEPA's Superior management in the sense of strengthening the Stricto Sensu graduate studies, as well as the trajectory of the body Professor of the geography area gathered in the courses of full degree in geography and specialization in teaching geography in Amazon.
The academic master's degree course in geography has as its focus area: socio-spatial and territorial analyses in Amazon. And as Research lines:
1) socio-spatial and territorial analysis of the field in the Amazon;
2) socio-spatial and territorial analyses of cities in the Amazon.
The course is free, in the classroom mode, lasting 24 months and offering 10 vacancies annually, through public universal call. It aims to train trained professionals for analysis and proposition about the socio-spatial and territorial problems of the Amazon, committed to regional issues and with a critical-reflective spirit.
